The CMA’s Take Over

taylor-swift-country-music-awards-03.previewInstead of the fabulous Wednesday comedy line up, tonight ABC is playing host to the 43rd Annual Country Music Awards. This makes me so mad I could spit. Shouldn’t, oh I don’t know, CMT host this inbreeding extravaganza? Whatever, I still have old episodes of Modern Family and Cougar Town on DVR to keep me warm tonight. And if the CMA’s are your thing, then tonight’s your night.Until next week.

Side note: I don’t hate Taylor Swift.

Sorry, Kathy

ABCDue to casting problems, ABC has kicked it’s new dance show Lets Dance to the curb (thewrap.com). The show was to be a post-Thanksgiving dance competition hosted by Kathy Griffin in which contestants reenact popular dance scenes from movies. Yawn. I love Kathy but that premise is lame. Worse than Grease: You’re The One That I Want. But don’t be sad, Kathy will still be cursing on Bravo and doing her other show, and there’s still like, 20 others dance shows to watch. I’m sure ABC isn’t worried though. They’ve got Wednesday night comedies and Sunday night dramas to rely on, and that little show Lost returns in January. And V is starting out strong. They just need to cancel Hank finally, then we’ll be kosher.

V Spot

93507_preview-new-abc-drama-vThe V’s have arrived, and it took a little bit of episode time, but it kind of kicked ass. I was surprised by how much plot had happened before the events of this episode took place.  Like how the V’s landing was the final part of their plot and how they have already been infiltrating with their scary lizard people for a while.

All in all, that idea coupled with the fact that some of the lizard people have revolted to defend humans and how in love with the V’s Earth became adds up to a pretty terrifying premise. Plus, Anna is cute as a button but she is one mean bitch. She also knows how to manipulate the media, or in this case a cute if slightly worn looking Scott Wolf. It’s about time he did something good again.

In the weeks to come look forward to more Earthlings to be revealed as evil lizards, Juliet from Lost running around being skeptical, and hopefully some inter-galactic love making. Fingers crossed!

My Life As A Reality Star

kathy-griffin-looks-greatABC has a new competitive reality dance show they are rolling out at the end of November, aptly called Lets Dance. While I don’t really give a hoot about dance shows, I do find it fun that Kathy Griffin, whom I love, is set to host (www.thewrap.com). This could prove to be funny, but I do worry. She is at her best in stand up and on cable, where she can pretty much say anything and curse like a sailor. Hopefully this hosting gig allows a lot of room for her to improv and add her own spin to the process. And now that she’s had numerous stand up specials, met tons of celebrities, hosted awards shows, and now has a reality show hosting job, can we finally officially knock her off of the D-list?

The Aliens Have Landed

The day we have waited for is finally here, kiddies. V arrives on Tuesday, and we only get four episodes until hiatus so keep up! It’ll only be a matter of time before the lizard people try and take over. Muahaha.

Sunday Night! Sunday Night!

Tonight on television, y’all need to be tuned in to ABC for your weekly fix of crack-cocaine, served up in the form of Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters.

On DH, Lynette enjoys attention because of her massive pregnancy breasts.  Damn Felicity Huffman is beautiful, and William H Macy better worship her. Elsewhere on the block, stupid John is back to date Gaby’s niece and then smooch on Gaby.  The promo monkeys are leading us to believe Carlos catches them in a lip lock, but he could just as well be gasping at his first glance of the new set of twins Lynette is sporting.

Sara will finally be back on B&S, but the episode looks like it’s gonna be all sunshine and rainbows.  Sara frolics around in France and has a steamy foreign affair.  Kitty and Robert are shacked up in Norah’s, and cancer? What cancer? At least Sarah is back and we better get to see her reaction to Kitty’s news or I’m gonna choke Berlanti myself. Expect Rebecka to be screechy and annoying and Norah to be wacky and cook lots of yummy food.

God Doesn’t Hate Us Afterall!

abc_logo_hi-res.thumbnailI just read on TWOP that ABC has given the go-ahead for full seasons of Flashforward, Modern Family, and Cougar Town. This news combined with my discovery that I have five Honey Browns left in my fridge equals one very happy blogger.  It also rocks that these three shows happen to be the new shows of the fall television season that I have grown to love more than I should, so now I can continue watching without the fear that they’ll be ripped away from me. Now lets hope that the production people on V can get their shit together so that show can be as bad ass as it should be. Guess we’ll have to wait until November to find that last part out.
